Jenny Dok
Temple Beth El
Director of the Tent
Jenny Dok is excited to join Temple Beth El as the Director of the Tent, where she looks forward to building a vibrant after-school community rooted in creativity, curiosity, and connection. She is passionate about creating spaces where children feel a strong sense of belonging while exploring learning, friendship, and Jewish life in meaningful ways.
Jenny holds a degree from the University of Michigan–Dearborn and has worked in education across multiple settings, including Plymouth-Canton Community Schools and Jewish early childhood education. Most recently, she served as a lead teacher at Hillel Day School, where she developed engaging, arts-integrated learning experiences and built strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Jenny’s family includes her husband, Basan, their daughter Mavis, and Natalie, a student at Farmington High School. Outside of work, Jenny enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family and their cat. She has a particular appreciation for playful, imaginative things that spark joy and wonder in children.
Jenny is excited to partner with families in the Detroit Jewish community and help the Tent Program grow into a welcoming community where children can learn, explore, and feel truly at home.
